Shiver Me Timbers
The Shipwreck, Higgin's Beach, Scarborough Maine
One of the very coolest things about Higgins Beach is that it comes with it's very own shipwreck. How cool is that, when you're a very young buy, to be able to explore and crawl over a REAL shipwreck? The shipwreck is only exposed during low tide, and it's on a section of the beach that is seldom used by sun-bathers. Some years it's more exposed than others, some years it's nearly covered by sand. It's a favorite spot for finding Sand Dollars, sea shells and other treasures.
